AeroScout Asset Management Solution Enables Healthways to Track Laptops, Adds Another Layer of IT Protection
AeroScout’s Wi-Fi RFID Solution Provides Security for Healthways World Headquarters in Nashville
ORLANDO (RFID Journal Live! Conference), April 28, 2009 - AeroScout, Inc., the leading provider of Unified Asset Visibility for improving operational efficiency, announced today the successful implementation of its asset tracking and management solution at the Nashville headquarters of Healthways, the world’s largest Health and CareSM support company. AeroScout Asset Management utilizes advanced Wi-Fi Tags affixed to laptop computers to monitor the location of computers regardless of whether they are on or off. The solution leverages Healthways’ existing Wi-Fi infrastructure to provide real time location information to track and protect laptops, further ensuring the security of confidential data.

Healthways selected AeroScout’s asset tracking solution to provide security above and beyond what is offered by traditional physical security solutions. The company deployed a complete system that included AeroScout Wi-Fi Tags, Exciters and MobileView software. The system was also integrated into Healthways’ Lenel OnGuard access control system and set up to leverage Healthways’ existing Cisco Unified Wireless Network, which keeps total costs low while reducing theft, improving efficiency and increasing data safety measures.
