Worker Safety Solution

AeroScout’s comprehensive worker safety solution contains several key applications – with one common, very important component – real-time visibility.

Evacuation Monitoring

In an emergency evacuation, personnel are mustered at specific gathering points.  The AeroScout Evacuation Monitoring solution automatically monitors their presence, confirming and recording location in real-time.  This improves critical situational awareness during an emergency and enables quick location of missing team members.  Additionally, our Evacuation Monitoring solution is proven to reduce evacuation drill times by up to 50%, translating into hundreds of man-hours saved per year in drills.

Employee Visibility and Distress Alerting

When there is a man-down situation, our Employee Visibility and Distress Alerting solution helps operators quickly locate the employee in danger and organize rescue operations. A separate alert can be sent to the control room if lack of motion is detected or if the individual activates the tag's panic button.  Distress alerts sent to monitoring personnel include the worker in distress location to ensure immediate emergency action.

Access Control

AeroScout Exciters installed at gateways and tunnels provide instant and accurate alerts upon tagged personnel moving from one area to the other or entering restricted areas.

Gas Exposure Detection

AeroScout is part of the Accenture Life Safety Solution.  The gas detector, supplied by Industrial Scientific, has the ability to detect one to four gases, including H2S, O2, LEL, CO, SO2 and NO2. In potentially hazardous conditions, the instrument alerts users through audible, visual and vibrating alarms. The instrument’s gas level information is then transmitted over Cisco’s Unified Wireless Network using the gas detector’s integrated AeroScout Wi-Fi tag. The gas detection information is then sent to a control room, where an operator can react to the data.

AeroScout’s comprehensive visibility solution provides real-time tracking of production and assets.

Ore Production Visibility

The AeroScout solution tracks trucks and Load Haul Dump vehicles (scoops) underground or above surface in order to better monitor ore production. The system detects which routes vehicles carrying ore have gone through and the amount of ore yielded from each area can be monitored.

Asset Visibility

AeroScout provides complete visibility over equipment, machinery, vehicle fleet and critical assets. The solution allows users to quickly search for an asset and view its real time location displayed on a map. Location and status information is populated to enterprise applications (e.g. ERP) and meaningful business events (such as operational status of jumbo drills, shortage of tools) through standard API’s. The solution prevents loss of equipment and dramatically increases labor productivity.
