In the program, Cisco licenses a specification with the latest WLAN standards and Cisco innovations. Program participants implement support for all features and submits their products to an independent lab for rigorous testing. Only by passing all tests does a participant earn the right to be called Cisco Compatible.

Through the CCX program, AeroScout leverages Cisco innovations for enhanced security, mobility, quality of service, and network management.
